Leisure Sailing

Even if you are not into racing, Bala is a great place to sail. There will always be like minded people around to share a social sail with, exchange skills and enjoy just hanging out at the club.

With such a wide range of experience you may find some people keeping close to the club house as they develop their tacking and gybing skills within a close proximity of the club house knowing that the SW breeze at worst will blow their boat into the shallows allowing them to walkk it back round if they get into trouble.

Other members, if the weather is right may take a tough beat all of the way down the lake to the weather station and then enjoy a fun run or reach back up to the club house.

On club racing days, you will find a safety boat out on the water keeping a watching eye on lake users to ensure all of our members are safe.

If the weather conditions are no good, then we'll stay on shore or in the club house and just enjoy a goos catchup and maybe wait for the club bar to open up!

Remember that as a full club member you can expand your sailing experience by booking out one of the club boats so if you are after a leisure sail and want to try something different, that opportunity is always there.
